Athens

We arrived in Athens late-afternoon and enjoyed a beautiful sunset atop our hotel. It had been a long two weeks and we were pretty content to just venture close to the hotel for dinner.

We headed up the hill behind our hotel to a wonderful little place that had roof top seating and a marvelous view to the Acropolis. Our meal was spectacular and our waiter ended up being from LA!

This was a magnificent museum they had recently completed. During the building, they discovered ancient ruins to an even older city than Athens! What it must be like to live upon layers and layers of the history of the world.

The next morning our guide, who I thought resembled Pocahontas, took us on a very educational tour of Athens.

The tiny circular formations you see are actually refrigerators!

I think this lady followed me from Santorini!

On our first night there I noticed these dogs that seems to be roaming the city everywhere we went. Much like that cats of Santorini. I remarked to our guide about it and she explained that the dogs were actualy allowed to roam free and taken care of by the city. There were packs that ran in certain areas and once a year they were gathered up, vaccinated, given a check up, tagged and then returned to their "turf". Awesome!
